There is much anxiety in our world and our church these days, and it is often very easy to be overwhelmed when the future appears bleak. Fortunately, at camp, we have a solution!
In our work at Camp, we are extremely fortunate to work closely with young children, and in doing so, sometimes we get the awesome opportunity to see the world through their eyes. Every so often, campers arrive at camp exuding the purest expression of hope. When I greet campers at check-in, I often ask them how they are feeling, what they are excited for or looking forward to, and how they think the week might go. It is such a pleasure to see the boundless hope and excitement they have for a week filled with new experiences, friends, food, and faith development.
The amazing thing about Hope is that it is contagious. The hope of our campers transfers to me, our counselors, and camp staff. Scripture tells us that God has prepared a future of hope for us (Jeremiah 29:11). Our youth campers are that future, and they spread Hope throughout camp, and the world. So, if you are looking to share in the feeling of hope, I would like to invite you to spend some time in service at camp this summer! You will receive far more than you give!
I hope to see you at camp soon!
