This training event is for all program camp staff members including deans, counselors and resource people.  This training includes spiritual development, behavior management, learning skills, instructional skills, and program ideas.

Whether you are an experienced camp leader or just getting started, this is the training for you and should not be missed.  If you are unable to make this training, please contact the site where you will be serving so that these important topics can be covered well in advance of camp.

Counselors will enjoy an engaging track designed to help them prepare for cabin life and working with campers.  Skill sessions will include establishing a community of respect, knowing camp rules, camp worship and prayer, how to get campers excited and how to settle them down, listening, working with small groups, seizing faith moments through the day, and more.

Deans, chaplains, healthcare providers, and other leaders will take a close look at this year's curriculum, What's in a Name?, from Chalice Press, working with the camp schedule, best practices in working with staff and campers, and integrating faith experiences throughout the day to support the camp's mission.

All leaders will share large group sessions to better understand the mission of Camp and Retreat Ministries, as well as how to prepare for success at camp while being ready for the unexpected.  Together we will also learn about everyone's role in keeping camp safe and how to practice Safe Sanctuaries and Child Protection Policies in the camp setting.
