Kitchen Staff position openings at Alton L Collins Retreat Center;  The Retreat Center has openings for part time kitchen helpers (prep meals, serve tables, kitchen clean up, process produce from our garden) and lead cooks (prepare meals from menu, supervise kitchen helpers, serve tables, kitchen clean up, process produce from our garden).  Some experience is preferred for kitchen helpers; this is negotiable.  Experience is required for those interested in the cook positions.  Hours are flexible.  Staff sometimes works as many as 40 hours a week and some times as few as 10 hours in one week.  There are opportunities to work in other areas of ministry at the Retreat Center if you have interest and other skills to offer.  ALCRC is ministry oriented and mission based.  We are working to create a more sustainable food service offering including use of locally grown foods, more vegetarian options, and less paper product.  We cook all meals from scratch and use in-season produce from our organic garden.  We strive for a creative and positive kitchen environment.  We honor many special dietary needs and interact regularly with our guests.  We are becoming known as a teaching kitchen as we offer more and more opportunities for other camp and retreat center staff  and local congregations to learn from our developing philosophy.  Please contact Nanci Hicks if you are interested in being a part of our team.  503-637-6411 or alcrc@cascadeaccess.com
