Children will spend a week learning how to care for and ride a horse. They will see how God reveals Himself through nature, animals & people while gaining confidence as they acquire new skills and realize they are loved and made special by God.

Each day includes morning devotions, hot chocolate, a hearty breakfast, van ride to the Yost ranch, grooming, saddling, learning about horses, a big sack lunch, lots of riding time, then back to camp for showers, a yummy dinner, active outdoor games,  campfire, Bible time and bedtime.  The small size of the group (max. 12) is perfect for kids to make new friends and spend quality time with each other and their horse.

The first days will be spent learning basic horsemanship and horse safety in the controlled environment of the Yost Family Arena.   Later in the week, campers and staff will take trail rides in various locations in Wallowa County.   The camp will provide transportation to all offsite activities.

Check-in for Horse Whisperers Camp at Wallowa Lake Camp will be from 3pm – 4pm on Sunday June 25.
Pick-up is at Wallowa Lake Camp at 9:30am Friday.   After collecting their luggage, everyone will go to the arena where the campers have been riding so your children can give a short demonstration with their horses on things they’ve learned during the week.  After the demonstration, the campers will be done and ready to go home.
